Welcome to The Dessert Diva RVA

Welcome to my site! My name is Angel Grooms and I am the Owner/ Creator at The Dessert Diva RVA! This is my custom cake and dessert company located in Richmond, VA. I am a Virginia native, born and raised in Richmond. I hold memories of baking and cooking with my grandmothers and great grandmother as a child near and dear to my heart. I have always had a passion for cooking and serving others. 

In 2016, I said goodbye to the healthcare field and began as a "Hobby Baker," making chocolate covered strawberry arrangements and cupcakes for friends and family. I took pride in creating ALL of my baked goods from scratch, and this helped to set me apart from many of my baking counterparts.

I continued to grow, creating from home until 2019 when I was able to open my very own storefront in Scott's Addition. I now specialize in custom and "imposter" cakes, dessert catering, and much more! My baked goods have been included on the menu in well-known local restaurants such as Ms. Girlee's Kitchen and Daily Menu Restaurant, and I have been a proud participant in Richmond Black Restaurant Experience. Over the years, I have continued to maintain my from scratch product quality standards. 

The business, as did many, has gone through some "post covid" transitions and now operates online on a pre-order basis. However, I have taken this much needed downtime to perfect my crafts and expand my menu and list of services, and I am proud to announce that the dessert shop will be back up and running this fall!
